Mirrors

Contributed by AmiasDavies on Friday, 28th August 2015 @ 07:00:39 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

A reflection of what we hope for,
One that feels like a door,
A feeling that we must roar,
A future that will never be in store.

A reflection of our upcoming,
One that keeps running,
A past that keeps mumbling,
A wish that keeps struggling.

A reflection of what went wrong,
Feelings that weren’t strong,
A bridge that was too long,
No one came to the dong.

A reflection of our sadness,
When we’re filled with madness,
A substitute for failing gladness,
All lit but it’s all blackness.

A reflection that we adulate,
With no need to calibrate,
And life will castigate,
In us we fabricate.

A reflection that will crack,
A future all in black,
A loss of track,
Payment for the choice to slack.

A reflection that leaves a gap,
Feelings that will always trap,
Angry that you will never snap,
A mirror that gave the slap.

Nice work.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
