Go mother, take the child in your arms
and bring her to the water's edge.
Let her paddle among the sapphire pools
that blink with fool's gold and mossy stones.
You clutch your chest when she waddles
too deep past her ankles.
But she only blabs something and squints
at the sun's face on the surface of the brook.
A breeze ruffles your morning dress and
explores your auburn strands of hair.
Every inch of you is woman made whole and
carved from the earth itself, still warm.
Blow the pollen from her downy hair and
wrap her in silken cloth to dry her.
Her mute embrace speaks a thousands as
her eyes dart from dragon fly, to sapling, to
all the things missed.
On the way home you stop under the ragged oak
and whisper hello to her older sister resting among the flowers.
Don't fear mother. She'll be home when you are
sleeping, to hold your hand and ease you through the night
and the forever days.
The younger one needs you now.

You threw some many images into this it was hard to keep up with the pictures you created in my mind.
I enjoyed every line and thoroughly enjoyed the words cast before my eyes.
I hope that more people comment on this, it was like a fresh breath of magic.

I really like this. I like that the older sibling is not jealous of the younger |

Subtle and creatively told. Am I wrong or is the older sister deceased?
This is brilliant.
I enjoyed this read. Thanks for posting.
