Who Your Friends Are

When you choose enemies,
It's easy to forget who your friends are.
When you punish those who are guilty,
It's often rash judgment that determines;
Just who it is that bears that weight,
Of such a lofty conviction
When money is used as a means,
To ensure production and construction
As well as both and deconstruction,
Institutions quickly corrupt their functions;
Sensationalism sells horrible acts and ideas;
And propaganda often becomes pride.
Anger or pain can be motivation,
But often fiercely persuasive.
Too often we regret their guidance,
When consequence settles in;
Lest there be post guilt and remorse,
Think twice, before you make matters worse.

Ain't that true.
I have noticed because of the global economy in recession most countries look to the USA to do their bidding. However the USA is cash strapped as well.
It's a two sided street. Countries need to take care of their own sovereignty but in doing so the ugly past may become our new future.
Great write Heathen :) |

I looked at your poem from the view of my 10 years working in retail. It's all about profit but the employees can suffer. In 2013 a store I worked for made 43 million in profit but still cut employee hours because they did not make 45 million. I think the economy was made to keep people poor. |
