depression

Contributed by FireStarter on Tuesday, 18th August 2015 @ 12:37:57 AM in AEST
Topic: anguished

Delusional thoughts that you are unloved
Evaluating your worth to other people
Past anger and regrets in your minds reach
Resigned to the fact that you get what you deserve
Experiencing the impossible
Stagnating thoughts poisoning your being
Staying in your mind never to be set free
Isolated from the one's you love
On going sadness as long as you live
Neglecting to love yourself first

taking time to introspect can be scary.
loving yourself can be hard when you don't feel lovable.

seems like a description more than experience...almost devoid of emotion as though one were transcribing an after-action report. a singularly unique take on a touchy and personal struggle

Sometimes it is hard to love yourself and to see what others see in you.
I can relate a little to what you are saying as I tend to have a negative self image.
The mind is a cruel thing when it insists on replaying the thoughts we wish to extricate ourselves from.

I love the meaning and that this is an acrostic poem.

beautiful expression of feeling, look in the mirror and
say, 'you are beautiful, talented and important' for you
truly are, you are a worthy writer with a creative pen,

hugs n' love nessa

A well-written and relevant poem in a format that really suits the subject. You capture how the loneliness and isolation of depression attacks the sufferer. I have no way of knowing how old you are, but I find it tragic that so many young people suffer from anxiety and depression, when they should be experiencing a carefree love of life. I'm not sure why this is so: the early sexualisation of children. The pressure heaped on the young to be 'successful' .Role models with more glitz than glory. Poor parenting, or maybe just an unstoppable rush in to the technological age, but a fact it is. Whatever the reason it needs to be seriously addressed.
