A shadow of you
Haunts my very soul
Vivid memories of the days of old
Now transfer to those of new
Where are you now
Who have you become
Someone new I suppose
I hope God has rewarded you
With a life I could never give
My reward was just knowing you
The sharing of time
Just being with you was oh so divine
My time here is nearing its end
Don't feel so sad
We will be together again
Tell me all about your new life
Is it not so bad
I look forward to being with you
Once again
On the other side
Maybe we can fall in love
All over again

Some believe that soul mates are forever bound to each other. Always being reincarnated as someone else, whether it be now you're my child type thing, now you're my husband, etc etc type thing, forever bound somehow.
I personally hope that if I meet up with my second wife in my next round that I run away really fast screaming "No, no, nooooo!!!!"
Anywho, really enjoyed this one. Gave me a lot to think about and it's a really lovely thought!!!

Thank you for this delicate reminder that we are always worthy of love. When loved ones leave us, we need to remember, as you do, that we are no less lovable.
We still possess the very qualities that brought love to us in first place.
You weave a distinction many overlook--- being loved and being lovable are not inter-dependent, and one does not depart with the other!
That saving grace is what sustains us to love once again; differently of course, but with no less purpose. My favorite line is "A shadow of you haunts my very soul".
She was truly loved. And you have much to give in her memory.

This is beautiful. I think about the people who have died that I miss when I read this, even though I think you meant it as romantic poetry. |
