Meeting at the Ocean

We sat by the ocean. It was a quiet
dark noon. The stars lit in our eyes.
Our faces were caught in what seemed like an eternal glance.
Tears from her eyes fell as she held my hand. "If you only knew," she said as her neck fell asleep.
"Forbidden as it might,
I chose to be with you," I told her.
"In sickness and health,
For better, for worse."
"Look at me," laying my hand on her shoulder.
I was taken aback when she wouldn't move.
