Lately
I've been drinking
I've been struggling to sleep
My love
For the thinking
For thinking way too deep
Its golden
And it burns
And it causes me to weep
The whiskey
Oh so beautiful
In my senses keep
Its not a shot
Nor sloppy pint
Nor a rancid Russian tumour
Forgive me
Ye cheap drinkers
And please excuse my humour
But true finesse is single
Be it wood or fruit
Sipped with ice
My only vice
Its hold is absolute
You may laugh at my preference
You may scoff at the cost
You may make any remark you choose
And then you may get lost
As for now I'm pouring
The lava is on the ice
Once again, sweet solitude
Once again, sweet vice
