Forever don't last forever

Contributed by Beyfoxman5 on Sunday, 26th July 2015 @ 11:25:03 AM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

Time
takes and it teaches
Time
Ticks away from the bleachers
Time
From endless to relentless
Time
More and more to less and less

Forever don't last forever

Two minutes left on a one hour clock
Stand back boy cause it won't stop
Is that a light or an oncoming train
It won't be long before I go insane
Writing down words on this white paper
Second by second and here comes later
Tick of the clock and is comes was
This round thing does it like nobody does

Time
takes and it teaches
Time
Ticks away from the bleachers
Time
From endless to relentless
Time
More and more to less and less

Rock to dust and water to steam
It crawls away in our dreams
Handprints imprints woom to ashes
On invisible wings it just passes
It Comes counted seen or even  heard
Can't be defined by the spoken word
Sit down with a drink and watch it go
Listen to its words I told you so

Time
takes and it teaches
Time
Ticks away from the bleachers
Time
From endless to relentless
Time
More and more to less and less

This poem has a very elegant style. I like the references to time and the almost perfect meter of your main stanzas. In some parts of your poem you almost have a tongue twister. If this were in a book I definitely would find myself referencing it often and quoting it to my friends.

Were we as acutely aware of the passing of time as your poem..we would certainly accomplish more!
The price of learning is the time it steals. "Time takes and it teaches"
We pay in the coin of passing time for our wisdom; our memories; our reputation; our accomplishments.
The sand is slipping away "more and more to less and less" .
Thank you for testifying that time is the only entity that man cannot control, recreate, stop, trade, or exchange. All we mortals can do is mark it as it passes! and Bon Voyage! softerware
