Power Lines Don't Make Good Clothes Lines

Contributed by randyjohnson on Sunday, 19th July 2015 @ 01:20:30 PM in AEST
Topic: HumorPoetry

Some people say she was crazy, they think that she was out of her mind.
She paid the price when she decided to use a power line for a clothes line.
She thought that the electric current would dry the clothes faster.
She didn't know that she was heading for disaster.
She was too cheap to make a clothes line or to buy a new clothes dryer.
She wouldn't have done what she did if she had known it would fry her.
She fell off the ladder when she was shocked by the electricity.
She thought she was being smart but ended up being extra crispy.

Metaphorical, let this be a lesson. So relatable on so many levels. There is no easy way out.

I like this. It's a whimsical situation, with a fore-seeable twist, but with a humorous take on tragedy.

Perhaps one man's tragedy is another man's comedy.

I also like the ending of the lines with faster and disaster. Not only does it rhyme, but the two certainly work together to describe her demise in this case, which is fantastic.

Good write Randy. :)

This is the second whimsy I've read from you this night
This you wrote before the one about your good friend who made his name as the first corpse on the moon is even better

It is the high concept of scientific method combined with the question most never ask

Why what for
If a third world people could with nothing starting from scratch erase all the waste and be incredibly more efficient

You say yes
I think you might be onto something,

Peace!
