being 17

Contributed by sublime86t on Wednesday, 28th May 2003 @ 11:05:00 AM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

still in my youth i feel as i am being ripped apart, my parents seem to be rushing me into adulthood when i feel i am not ready.

they say things like "what i do now will affect my entire life" but i feel that is extremly unfair i just want to be a kid without worries as the last moments of my childhood drifts away.

i do not know when i will be ready i think many do not know either even adults.

school, parents, and all adults seem to be saying that these are the best years of my life but i think that it is extremly difficult and hard i am totaly clueless and dont know where my life will take me

You are right about being clueless. We all go through life clueless, only being able to react to what comes our way. And in so doing, we attain experience. Hopefully, when we grow up, we are only children who live responsibly.

you have written about a young person's
problem in an adult manner. Good for
you.

i agree with Chuckx..we remain clueless most of our life but pick up some wisdom through lifes experiences. I intend to remain a child at heart for the rest of my life. Only more responsible. For if you leave the child behind you lose your sense of wonder.

I Agree with all of the other comments, this is written perfectly, and i know how you feel, i'm 17 but i grew up quite awhile a go, due to experiences.
if these are the best years of our lives, i'd hate to see what others bring
