Sometimes we need to look at the past
to see what things didn't last
To look at the things that hurt us the most
and to watch it fade like a passing ghost
Sometimes we need to see the future
so we can heal the wounds with a given suture
not to reminisce on past pain and tears
but to look on at the future and oncoming years
But sometimes we need to just focus on today
make the good times last in every single way
Take it step-by-step, minute by minute
So we can take a deep breath and let it compute
