I wonder,
if the words beneath our skin are said,
Before they even leave the lips.
I wonder if we are more the animal, than we
Ever care to admit,
We are useful to those who can still use us!
The smell of weakness brings out the predator!
Sensing the lack of human strength.
We have sought knowledge of the animal world,
whilst denying the creature.
And who or what is behind this order of life?
What drives unconscious processes?
But that which gave us life to sustain,
Her only consideration
survival!

I love this. Well written, and very perceptive.
How do we act when we think no one is watching? That is the true measure of a man/woman.
Great job.

That opening says it all. Very well said but I don't agree with the ending holistically which is ironic, but in critique if myself, as I find experience breeds cynicism when it comes to relationships. This skepticism is justified for the most part but can be a hindrance in terms of giving people a fair chance to prove their goodness. As always though: very well penned. |

That we can be at peace, in the darkness, alone, at the end of our day. When there is nothing to color our thoughts, or filter our feelings. That is when we cannot deny the creatures that we are.
Making peace with that animal is ultimately what frees us.
Well said.

I've not been on the site for a while, but I always know when I return that reading the work of some people will never disappoint.
This is true mastery of the craft and I applaud you greatly for that.
Nice write
