Precipice

Contributed by spike on Saturday, 11th July 2015 @ 06:10:27 PM in AEST
Topic: InspirationalPoems

at life’s edge, the drop sheer
heart gripped in utter fear
the uncertainty of the near,
overwhelms the head.

the next step is so hard,
to show safety no regard
to test the air, windward
and force the leap of faith.

the confluence of all things,
as the unfurling of wings
causes the voice to sing,
a joyous cry of freedom.

the strength to look ahead,
through the tailings of dread
to find courage instead,
to be what you can be.

incredible picture depicting true
fear, or awakening, or even more
positively thinking, immense
possibility and beauty.

Your poem here entitled, precipice, is cool, very
cool indeed Spike!

Seems like it takes one mind at a time
all alone, but the more one looks,
the more they keep a dream alive,
the more they see others
who feel much the same.

All good things are possible
Great poem - I'd love to have this
as a poster to hang on my wall!

Peace!

Ah, Spikastotle, that precipice is so well trodden. To leap or not to leap, that is the question. I'd have flown with the regularity of an eagle if I was as solitary as one. But, there is always someone up there with me who can't fly, and I just can't leave them behind. Truly relatable, and delivered with a sage's pen.
