Blinded by darkness
Guided by light
Fear or Flight
Thy be my choice
To remain silent
Or speak with a voice
My soul is paralyzed
By this insidious fright
Demand what is mine
Or lose the fight
No God-given rights
For me tonight
I'll be damned no matter thy plight
For me to survive here on earth
I shall obey thy golden rule
Do what's right to earn my life

Ooh, eerie with some adrenaline-pumping anticipation. :)
"To remain silent
Or speak with a voice
My soul is paralyzed
By this insidious fright"
Love these lines. Very much fitting to the struggle of finding our convictions, and abandoning the ones we were given, as well as learning to stand up for what we believe in.
Great write Jim. :) |

After reading the dedication to you I had to check out one of your poems and I must admit that you really show promise. I shall be checking out your poems from time to time. |
