THE SINS OF YOUR FATHERS

those are the sins of your fathers
those are things to not explore
shame be brought to sons and daughters
so shame be brought to kneel before

eyes should not look to see
ears should not hear about
mind and soul will not be free
if fear inside does lurk throughout

cast you off at the dawning light
make use of all the good of day
guide yourself when you meet the night
for the stars above won't show the way

move on to that sacred valley
forget the lands you leave behind
descend the steps you should not tally
for each a sin you must not find

those are the sins of your fathers
those are things to not explore
the sins of wars and sins of slaughters
to be lost from you forever more...

I definitely agree. Don't ask about things which if the answer was made plain to you would cause you grief. Ilike your poem, it had the two necessary elements: substance and penmanship 👍
