Travel to Love

Contributed by Ambivalence on Thursday, 18th June 2015 @ 04:34:31 PM in AEST
Topic: InternetLove

We first met on the online dating site OkCupid
which in the beginning I considered was stupid
because I thought I learned my lesson
after almost getting “catfished” one time on Craigslist.

However, it didn’t seem that you were a scammer
because you had great English spelling and grammar.
That’s when we started talking to each other.
Even if you were a million miles away, it didn’t matter.

I used to consider online dating was so artificial,
but now I think it may be better starting as virtual
since it made me focus on you as an individual
rather than the physical.

“What keeps you talking to me?” I asked.
You replied that I’m not like most guys trying to get into your pants,
and that I’m not desperate to get into a relationship so fast.

You said, “Someone who's very patient is what I really want someday”
I wanted someone mentally mature, truthful, nurturing, optimistic,
and generous (not with their body like a whore of course).
Is that too much to ask for?

Although we live in different time zones and cities,
we definitely share many personal similarities.
I can’t stop thinking about you
All day, all night, and all the way through.

For me, it seemed impossible to find that special lady.
I’d travel all over the world to be with her.
I see that possibility with you as my “travel buddy,”
and maybe someday you can be my “travel honey.”
I love to travel, but I never thought I’d travel to love.

After 7,000 messages, 300 images, 8,000 miles across the Pacific Ocean,
and 6 months later, we finally get to meet in person!
From this point on, I’m ready for whatever else happens.

I’ve never been so excited to meet someone!
You’re serious when it comes to relationships,
and my days of playing silly games are done.
I hope and pray that you are the one.

This genuine gentleman in front of you
means what he says and says what he means.
That includes flying to see this special lady in front of me,
All the way from Houston, Texas to here in Manila, Philippines.

At this very moment in time and place,
what are the odds of someone like you meeting someone like me?
All I know is there may be a great opportunity here for us
to show the world how a true love relationship should be.

Inside of me is a ton of fluttering butterflies
as I look into your beautiful eyes.
Right now I’m feeling pretty nervous
because my feelings for you are pretty serious.

You’ve completely transformed my frozen heart
from what used to be off limits.
Because of your sincere honesty,
my blazing heart is limitless!

You make me feel as happy as I can be.
You make me feel as lucky as I can be.
You make me feel as peaceful as I can be.

It feels like we’re together already.
Both of us no longer want the short term or long term,
If we take what we have between us even further,
We’d only desire this to be forever.

Your poetry is beautiful - simple and honest. :) Since this is a 2015 entry, I wondered what happened, and it made me look up your Facebook. :) I/'/m so happy for both of you! May you have a wonderfully happy life! Sincere wishes from a fellow journeyer.
