Be Nice

Contributed by Lydthon15 on Wednesday, 17th June 2015 @ 09:57:06 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

I try to be nice because I know it's good to be kind to others
but I also know that being too kind can also mean getting hurt
like when you spend your life holding doors open for people
so often that one day when you walk through a doorway you think
that they will do the same for you but the door hits you in the face
with the cold reality that you not matter how hard you tried not to be
have become a pushover and or a welcome mat that people don't
think twice before they step on or over leaving their footprints on you
So yes I agree that it's good to be nice but we shouldn't let niceness
become intertwined with things such as naivety or submissiveness
Be the person that other people can always lean on if need but make
sure that your own shoulders can support your weight and that if given
the chance the other person would be completely willing to do the same
Always be nice but never forget that being kind to yourself matters too

So true.
Kindness often is mistaken for weakness.
Do onto others.............
Great poem
