Nay is for horses.

Contributed by softerware on Monday, 1st June 2015 @ 11:39:38 PM in AEST
Topic: abstract

Don’t be afraid of dying; be afraid that you never lived.
The end isn’t followed by a commercial, and the credits have to fit on a stone.

Want to love life? Visit the morgue.
Want to feel young and vital? Have lunch in a nursing home.
Cursed with bad skin? Offer to write letters in a burn ward.

Think you have rotten luck? Attend a Gamblers Anonymous meeting.
Love treat you wrong? Spend a week in divorce court.
Think your doctor doesn’t listen to you? Tell it to a veterinarian.

Want to feel rich? Serve a Christmas meal at a homeless shelter.
Nobody cares? Pay the road toll for the car behind you.
Think your job stinks? Spend a day with a city sewer worker.

Feeling ignored? Notice someone.
Want to meet people? Walk a dog.
Want a day to yourself? Go to the city library.
Think the laws are unfair? Spend a day in an ambulance.

Work too hard? Go to bed earlier.
No friends? Volunteer.
Miss having kids? Rock preemies in a hospital nursery.

Need more money? Get a roommate.
Hate living at home? Try sleeping in a doorway.
World passing you by? Keep a journal.

Life unfair to you? Spend a day in a wheelchair.
Angry? Pull weeds.
Want people to listen? Whisper.

Truth and logic contained in another witty and awesome poem by the great Softerware!!!

*applauds*

Always look forward to your schtuff.

Side note: The world did pass me (us) by one day. Well, a world. Dag nab it, if it twernt Mars leaving orbit and passing us by with a remark, "I'm outta here suckers".

It was weird. Of course, afterwards, I woke from the more sleep I was trying to get after working too hard. wink photo cid_03C8030E2C7C492BA509D7B6A42B528.gif

Exactly.......................
I heard the news early this AM my 16 year old cousin was killed by a drunk driver. He was an only child. A great kid.
We all think we have the biggest problems. Death visited me recently. Compared to others my life is grand.
Superb write!
Thank you!
James

Wonderful, sage advice. I remind myself of this daily. We all suffer in different ways and compassion is key. Well said!

I was thinking hay, is for horses.
Lots of it too. But then, I have this funny squirrel
who is my best friend that lives out back, although he or she don't know it.
I was just thinking, he/she has these eyes placed on the too far off on each side his/her head to see straight, so he/she don't really understand what I mean when I wave and say hi each and every day.

but I deeply agree with everything your beautiful poem says. even though I can myself be a real bugger from time to time.

Peace!
