Not Even Death

Contributed by SabinaRamic on Saturday, 30th May 2015 @ 10:27:56 AM in AEST
Topic: selfstruggles

I sit there with tears streaming down my face.
Being told that crying brings nothing but  digrace.
My bloody knuckles held tightly to my chest.
There is nothing but aching pain in my breast.
My body soon goes numb with nothingness as I try to stand.
Why is nothing going as I had planned?
All that I can think of is why am I so weak?
I realize that my future is looking too bleak.
So many have already acomplished so much, so fast.
If I do nothing, my dreams will surely be smashed.
There is no support for me, they tell me that I am not good enough.
All they do is stare at me with unadulterated disgust.
They whisper in my ear that I cannot do it, that I will not succeed.
I may fall down, but I will always get up even if my body is overcome with fatigue.
I will prove them wrong even after my last breath.
Nothing can stop me, not even death.

Self-confidence and determination are very much important, as an athlete, or as a person in general. The message is important, and one not often thought of. Good write. :)

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
