Would I could pluck out my heart
To stop this ache within my breast
So that pain can no longer touch me
And this aching will arrest
My heart is so sick and weary now
And wounds have taken their toll
Scars from tactless tongues
Have marred my inner soul
And this is my silent lament
One I cannot sing out loud
For self pity is not becoming
And smiles should my tears shroud
may today this be my poet's song
Tomorrow I will try to believe
That love and hope will enter my heart
And sorrow, it will leave

you put together a very nice poem
----------------------------------------
don't be fast to pluck your heart
it may not be your fault
it may be the other guy
they should put in the vault |

Amazingly beautiful. Chosen apt words and wonderful expression to pen your feelings.
I can empathize with you. Anyway, hope is always there. So do not pluck it but format your heart. |
