I know I'll probably never be
Father of the year,
But I'm working hard
To give you everything I'll ever have,
All my blood, sweat, and tears.
I'm sorry about your mom,
How she just can't be around.
But daddy's doing the best he can
To be here,
I'm right here.
And I know maybe I can't give you
Everything you'll ever want
And it breaks my heart,
Ain't able to buy you a present
For birthday, Christmas, whatever.
But the Good Lord willing and the creek don't rise,
Daddy's gonna sing your lullabies,
Tuck your covers under your chin and kiss your head,
I'll be here
The rest of my life.

This is a warm and excellent poem that shows the love that you have for your children. Great job. Keep writing. |

Somewhat painful to read.
However well written indeed.
Showering kids with worthless junk is meaningless.
My fondest memories of my folks was never what they bought me but that they were there when I needed them. That's the only thing that counts. You are doing well.
God Bless

i never had a dad
i was raised by a single mother
trust me all the presents in the world
are worthless compared to the gift of you actually being around for your kids
