To My Friends From Once Upon a Time

Contributed by xHeathenx on Saturday, 23rd May 2015 @ 01:17:10 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

Days have passed
And memories on
Forgotten times spent
Wondering where they went

The building blocks of I
And who I have become
Have now become faded
And to this I am jaded

I can't see the colors anymore
No letters legible
But I love the tower
That they form together

To my friends I've left behind
It wasn't you
It wasn't me
It's just a nature of life

And every lost story
That I will never tell
The fact that it's so
Makes my heart swell

But I see you
On occasion
And every new story
That you are telling to the world

And so while we are now
No longer as close as we were
I'm proud of who you were
And who you have become

A poem to relate to. A well-written reminder to us all. Little can break the bonds or dissolve the memories; yes, old friends are part of our 'tower' of life. Made me think of an old friend whom I have known since the age of four. I really can't believe that it is more than ten years since I have seen him. I must put that right. We'll look a little different, but it will seem as though no time at all has passed. Thanks.
