To A Mother In Heaven

Contributed by waynster on Sunday, 10th May 2015 @ 01:33:22 PM in AEST
Topic: MothersDayPoems

Dear mother in heaven
I was thinking of you more today, than any other day
Today is Mother’s Day
and I really miss you since you went away

I remember all that you taught me
it helped me to be so strong
You were always there to help me
and teach me right from wrong

I am truly sorry
for all the times I doubted you so
I am truly sorry
I didn't get to say goodbye, before it was time for you to go

My memories of you are so very fond
they make me smile, but yet shed a tear
You left me alone in this world
but your memories take away all the fear

You are at peace now
having no more suffering and pain to endure
Oh how I love and miss you
as your loving heart was so very pure

Your grand children are getting so big
you would be so proud of them, I know
I often tell them stories of grandma
it’s hard to emotionally let you go

I know you’re looking down from the Heavens
keeping a watch over the children and me
I close my eyes and there you are
your everlasting and beautiful memory

Ladies and everyone else, My mother is still alive! I wrote this poem by wearing the shoes of a person that has lost their's. I do this quite often, put on the shoes of others and walk their walk, so to speak, and write what I think they are feeling. Many times people think the poems are about me. I just like to reach out and touch people and the best way to do that is to grasp how they feel!
