My Lovely Rose

I took to breast a rose for me,
full and red, in love with life,
petals turned to sun as if in smile,
thorns blunt for lack of strife.
So lovely! My eyes decreed,
this splendid natural work of art,
My Rose to soothe my soul in need,
flowering, joyful to my life's impart.
Oh, time! that shrinking theif does steal
moments saved so sweet, yet fewer now,
I hoped I helped my flower to feel
the new life I gained so much, and how!
To take my Rose required snips,
a seperation from the roots to life,
and in doing so I erred her petaled lips
no longer lush in love, my wilted wife.

Poet Invierno is too sensitive, but emotionally agreeable. To love flowers, people should not pick one to enjoy individually; and to adore ladies, they should not choose one to make the most of her personally? Wow, humans are always reasonably and acceptably selfish. |
