ThankYouPoems

I've always thought about what I would say
to you if for some reason we ever met again
I used to want to yell at you spending my time
creating witty comebacks for our meeting
I always thought I might respond with anger
asking you who you thought you were
thinking you could treat me like you did
Now I still want to know who you were
what happened that gave you so much pain
you just had to share it with someone else
but most of all I want to say thank you to you
For making me the kind of person who can't
stand to see someone siting alone in the lunchroom
because they never want to see people feel like that
like they did not so long ago which is why now
I value the meaning of true friendships more than ever
and I know the meaning of the phrase hurt people hurt people
So I will never hurt you back like I wanted to because
I realize that if we keep stabbing each other in the back
There will be no one strong enough to give out the bandages
Instead I will say thank you and goodbye
