|
a naked flame does burn beneath a frozen sky
viewed by one who's sitting, and keeps a watchful eye
it's light to travel only so near
as the dance continues in the nightly clear
no sound of thunder, no pounding roar
just a lonely candle to illuminate the shore...

I like this. It has a nice flow and almost "singing" feeling to it.
The picture makes me think a lighthouse, but dim, or an actual candle, and it sounds pessimistic, but not in a bad way, just a realist sort of sense in terms of perception portayed in description. The watchful eye could be that of a deity, or even ones in space upon a sattelite or other form of space craft. It's delightfully vague. Nicely done.:) |
