Sorting through the ashes of my unworthy past;
Discarding that which need no longer be, at last;
Do it not; or do it fast!
Spread these wet and clumsy wings;
"Fly or die!" and pray it brings;
Less deadly stings.
To be as you were not to be;
To see what once could never see;
The mirror is no longer thee.
Friends suspect, reject, conspire!
Sustain, remain, their fond desire;
Too late the water to the fire!
Trash this shell; Lest you return;
Behold the cripple spins and turns;
and lingers not to watch it burn;
May childish hope embrace and blind you;
Still the dying past behind you.
Let no blackened ash remind you!
Taste the sky, spit the rind!
Bitter taste left best undined!
An empty plate your joys to find!

Hi there Soft
Now this is a stunning piece. Yes indeed we will know. But I fear it will be to late. This piece here of yours encapsulates much of the book of Revelations. Great write I love it. God bless
Greetings

Meaningful, deep, this carries the soothe for a burned-out mind.
It holds in itself a passionate null for the unrest of guilt to be lulled to sleep.
A message of forthcoming self-brought change.
One that's lovely, kind, without pride, but not one-bit remorseful or regretful.
Truly a great write Jaye. :) |

a post for all kinds of transitions, methinks. A well paced exhortation, metaphors aplenty, but all accessible and aptly accorded their place in a poem that, serendipitously, sums up my current predicament. Kismet.
