She faded into Black

Contributed by shadowdancer on Wednesday, 15th April 2015 @ 12:51:50 AM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

She danced the fine line
dancing,wine,dine.
People told her more than once,
"you're flirting with disaster".

She laughed, a head thrown back laugh.
No,no he loves me,
I am his pretty little queen
he just loves me,loves me to death.

She danced the fine line,
barefoot,fancy free
long dark hair blowing in the breeze
dress tossing round her thighs
in love was she, high on life.

Maybe it was one too many drinks
or a fit of unbridled jealousy.
She such a pretty lass
melting hearts everywhere she went
left them floating on the wind.

He snapped, the lightning flashing in his eyes
the thunder crashed in blackened skies.
the rain was cascading down
as he wrapped his hands around her throat
pinning her to the muddy ground.

His eyes the last that she would see
she thought she was his pretty queen
and he just loved her, loved her to death
and he did,he did that night
as she took her last breath
and faded into black.

Hi there

Yes there is a fine line between love and obsession. If crossed jealousy steps in. This is a sad poem yet well written. God bless

Greetings
Rus

Great concept of loving someone to death in an actual realistic setting. I could picture these words as if it were a movie. Something about this made me see me doing this to a certain ex. Thank you for enticing my mind.

This poem brought back terrible memories. Reading it put photographs into my head. My ex fiance "loved me to death" thought I was his Goddess ,his everything. When I looked deep into his blue eyes I knew he wanted to choke the life out of me. Jealousy is a disease and gets to the best of us all. Don't stop your wonderful writing. I would love to read more!
