I can't understand

The world is my salvation
But it is my ending
To be truthful with myself I am sad
I am sad because of reality
I am sad because of the truth
I am sad because I don't want to get a grip on the future
I am sad because soon I will have to grow up
Why can't the world be peaceful
Because peace requires blood
Why can't I just fall in love and have a nice life with a beautiful family
Because we sacrifice too much
Why can't I hear the children's laughter anymore
Because it's blocked by the screams and cries from the children
I don't understand the world
I don't understand reality
I don't understand why we need to do this
I don't understand I just want to be a kid again
I understand one thing though
I grew up too fast and faced the reality too soon

Definitely written from the heart of a poet and I'm sure there's the full story behind it all...especially that last line.
