FathersDayPoems

Daddy Daddy please dont go,
There are things I need to know,
Why must you leave us here,
alone we are sitting in fear,
I cry at night when you leave,
You'll be home soon I believe,
I know you need to make money,
But the days are so nice & sunny,
Why could'nt you just stay,
If only for one more day,
Its Fathers day dad,
Thats why I'm sad,
How long will you be gone this time,
You always think we'll be just fine,
But really Daddy you miss out,
on all the things lifes about,
when you get back I'll have grown an inch taller,
can you even remember the days I was smaller,
So much you do miss,
after that good bye kiss,
Daddy ,Daddy did you hear me say,
I love you, Happy Fathers Day!?????

Oh Christina, this is an emotional write. We have no children but I know the truckers life well and my friends went through this all of the time with coming and going and the feelings of the kids. Tis true the trucker does miss out on alot of the everyday things and it is very hard!! I loved this poem!!

Your poem struck a dark note deep inside. I didn't grow up with my father and can feel the loneliness of missing him. Thank you for letting me feel that again.

A beautiful poem maam. One that touched me and all fathers who have grown children. We realize too late that the things that count most in life are friends and family- Always a job- Children grow up in a flash. All my best. Russ |
