I am
A written man
Not one
Who's spoken
I am
Lost in thought
I'm not
Sorry for my self
Despite any and all weakness
That I hold or possess
I have the strength to carry
And leave self-pity to bury
I was lost but I found myself
I was not dead and revived
But merely let down from the shelf

This is nice. I have read many excellent poems you have written and wondered a bit about how you think.
Your poetry is saturated with thought and thinking, and it is expansive and filled with lessons about life that are important to all.
I'm glad I pulled this one off the shelf, or the catalog of poetry such as this is.
we who are busy not leading need to leave and return
to learn more. Even if its just from a book left up on the shelf.
Mental, what a word. A chemical state of being
that separates pragmatic from feeling empathy
or more hopefully conjoining the two.
Always I am impressed by your prose xHeathenx! You're a wonderful poet!
Thanks!
Peace! |

Bravo! Thank you for reminding us that sitting on a shelf is a product of our own choosing. Shelves are to rest, gather your thoughts, wits, and move on.
But like the nest, sometimes we have to be pushed!
How eloquently you have shoved our consciences into flying mode. Well done, and probably a poem we need to reflect on every once in a while!
