The sweet bliss of silence by m.n.i.w

Contributed by mniw on Monday, 6th April 2015 @ 03:03:19 PM in AEST
Topic: anguished

The sweet bliss of silence.
As loud as white noise.
A crowd of imaginative beings bless me with their presence.
When I need company, they never fail to show.
When everyone else fled the scene.
They never chose to go.
I prefer emptiness because I've grown accustom.
The world never interjects on my realities.
I'm like a living ghost.
Transparent to most.
I see the world as a vast land of clouded minded beings.
Though I'm present.
The world is blind, incapable of seeing.
The cloudiness never seems to fade, so not much of a spotlight comes my way.
Barely just a face in the crowd.
I usually talk to the walls I'm confined to.
Or myself, the only one comfortable. With my story.

Loneliness sucks, but in my experience, it never truly depresses, just clouds so strongly the things that bring us joy. I spent a three year stretch, celibate, stuck in a rut, single, basically just a friend or two on occasion to make me feel happy, however short-lived. What I can say is, never did I feel depressed because of it, though I did feel depressed because I was content, and rarely truly happy. After meeting new incredible people, who appreciate you for what makes you an outcast, or after you learn to express yourself, you can find yourself to be much better of a social figure than you realized before. I'm now working to better myself in pride of work, life, and choices, as well as romantic happiness. I'be come to realize, would I rather be depressed, content, or happy? When I'm happy it's insane. Confidence out the "wah-zoo", and undiscovered levels of energy and thoughts. While I fall back to the lesser two, I'm making progress, and I think you can do the same. It just takes practice and effort, and a bit of ambition. :)

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
