Raindrops Show My Sorrow

Contributed by waynster on Sunday, 5th April 2015 @ 03:57:01 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

From the heavens, pours the rain
bringing to my surface, sorrow and dreaded emotion
The rain drops fall on my face
like an incredible magic potion

Falling from the dark skies
cooling enhanced before it touches my skin
Becoming drenched from head to toe
the rain brings me memory of all mortal sin

Feeling cold and bewildered
from feelings I still hold inside
The clouds cover the earth
there is nowhere I can now hide

Incredible feeling of guilt
knowing I have not cleansed my soul
Now I see streaks of lightening
and listen to loud thunder roll

It’s apparent I am frightened
from this sorrow and pain held within
Obviously the sunshine allows me to hide it
until it rains again

True to myself and others
is all I ever wanted to be
If only I could stand in the rain
and I had no sorrow and pain flowing within side of me

This would be a glorious day
I would dance in puddles, splashing water all around
I would embrace the sight of the lightening
and relish the great thundering sound

This is a moving poem if ever there was one.
Well done! I connect with the writer standing out in the cold rain. It's realness is captured by your words.

Thank you!

Peace!

I once played in the rain, enjoyment of inclement weather. Now I'm not sad, just a bit irritated when caught in it. Haha. Good write Wayne. :)
