Life is a contest
that we all seem to play
challenging all obsticles
that come our way
not looking at hardships
we have already seen
just searching for answers
to what it all means
dealing with happiness
and sadness and such
the Realities of life
that mean so much
Recording all data
from the past to today
an important part
in finding our way
dealing with tragedy
that may cut like a knife
all part of the contest
the game of life

Roy, I always love reading your poems! They mean so much to read brother! You always share heartfelt words that come from a person with so much insight. Speaking of insight, I just posted a poem about it before reading yours. It seems to be a gift some poets have withing, to be able to put themselves into the body of others and explain life from their point of view. I know I have been able to do that since I was about 15. You seem to have the same gift my friend.

Yep, slapped another great write on the table for us all to smile at again.
The game of life is always bearable when there are interludes like this to give us warmth
