A Sweet and Sturdy Heart

Contributed by xHeathenx on Monday, 30th March 2015 @ 08:36:20 AM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

When I was a young boy
I would say some silly things
Things that are near insane,
But what joy the thoughts they bring

Once I was outside with my mother
And I saw an orb up in the sky
It was day-time, so the moon could not be out
And so I decided; It was the Earth I saw fly by

Mother said I was mistaken
It couldn't be the Earth
Because we are on it,
But cynicism gave me mirth

One day I was doing something
The very moment now eludes me
But I spoke to mother again,
I had myself an epiphany

I told her, I will never die
Because I won't let it happen
Those who die allow it
But I refuse to succumb to a shootin' or a stabbin'

I think she thought I was silly,
An oddball of a child
True, these two memories
Are ones of a mind gone wild

Nevertheless, I cherish who I was
A loving young sweet-heart
Along with who I am
A boy with a heart too sweet, to ever be torn apart

"We never really die" - Lucy

And maybe we don't, after all, part of what we are is energy. Perhaps you were a youth ahead of your time. You may have also seen earth's reflection, reflecting off of...hmmmm. Heck if I know.

Children are often more in touch with the spiritual world than most adults. I enjoyed this.
From the mouths of babes.
