God Shed A Tear

Contributed by jamesstockdale on Sunday, 29th March 2015 @ 08:32:36 AM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

God shed a tear
Down on me

So self-absorbed was I
Full of need and greed
What's in it for me

Ignoring what I was given
In search of more
Looking for yet another
Big score

It was all about me
No one else you see
My heart full of desire
For what I should receive

Yes God shed a tear
Down on me
With the hope I shall see
The gift of life he has given me

There is a simple and pure resolve in your poems that comforts and draws the reader in, almost like a hug.
