A Throne’s Creed Of Power And Greed

Contributed by waynster on Thursday, 26th March 2015 @ 01:09:32 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

I am the king of my empire
my lavish throne shall be vacant only for me
Peasants will remain peasants
more, I cannot let them be

My eyes are wide open
pain and suffering among the world I see
I focus only on my empire
where everything is controlled by me

The pain and suffering among the world
is a problem I do not wish to heal
Those empires will not have strength
then my throne they cannot steal

I am the power
I have hunger for much more
My gallant knights will fight
through any and all blood and gore

Thus I should fail
however I deem not possible to be
The peasants of my land
will finally be set free

Although it won’t take long
when peasants are again put in their slavery state
The power and greed a throne brings
allows someone to control everyone else’s fate

From the past to the present
not much has really changed at hand
Presidents are kings and government bodies are the knights
the working class people are the peasants of the land

A president or a king
government body or a knight
Peasants or working class people
it’s time to take over the empire with a hell of a fight

Would that we could start over. I wonder if we would be better off, or just subjects of a lesser god?
You raise us questions and what-ifs to ponder. I am ashamed that we do not question our rulers.

Greeting - I have not read your work before but I am glad I did now. It really makes me think about life and those who make others wear their yoke. I have always been happy to just be a common ordinary peon but it's so hard to just do your own thing at times without being ordered by the power from the throne. Now in old age I don't want to take over the empire because I am tired of fighting and not winning.
