You know I'd still compare you to the sun
just not in the way I would have before
not because you were radiant or
even because you were beautiful
But because people told me
that you would burn my eyes out
I didn't listen because I thought
that you were the brightest thing
I had ever laid eyes on so I stayed
Then I realized too late that maybe
you were too bright for me and
you prefered to shine by yourself
I was told you'd burn my eyes out
and you did telling me I should
have worn my sunglasses

Good poem, but take off your "rose covered" glasses. |
