HAPPY
that's right i sold my soul, it never even soared
it ignored that i wanted free, no matter how i roared
it allowed me to wander wrong and followed me to death
as it laughed at all the misery that built with every breath
it whispered while it withered me it wallowed while i wailed
it sang a song of sweetness as it held my skin, impaled
so then i left my mind somewhere in the sunshine
somewhere without a care to spare,
i took it out and left it there
left it there for all to see
why my mind is better without me.
Happy.

"why my mind is better without me"
Sometimes I feel the other way. My body is better without a mind. A stagnant mind can kill a soul.
Great read- I enjoyed it!

I like how you wrote this. Altering the common perception of 'happiness' to suit ones apathy of self. Interesting. That last stanza has me pondering...Is the mind truly happier without a host? Or is the host unhappy with where his mind/thoughts lead? Hmm. Great poem. Much to think about.
