A fellow from Philly debased himself silly,
He sat down to pout, considered route out,
When I was a kid, I made similar bid,
She was the one, my looking was done.
She then met another and married the 'mother',
The night she was wed, I thought I was dead.
I then met a pearl, one heck of a girl
We married in June, It wasn't too soon.
Children came after with plenty of laughter
I look back and wonder how easy to blunder.
I say that the fates..led me to the gates
Thru which I did find.. a great peace of mind.
So I say to you:
Hey dummy, hey dope,
there's always some hope,
There's no end of rope
Learn how to cope.
Hey dummy, hey dope,
there's always some hope,
Hey dummy, hey dope,
THERE'S ALWAYS SOME HOPE!
