Trapped In A Dream

Contributed by JamesStockdale on Tuesday, 24th February 2015 @ 02:35:38 PM in AEST
Topic: DreamsandWishes

I live my life
Trapped in a dream

Unable to decipher
These things I see

What is real
I can not say
Trapped in a dream
Both night and day

Take me away
I use to pray
Let me escape reality
Just for one day

I got my wish
Now I must pay
For the world
I know
Is just a dream

I can not run
I can not hide
I can not dream
This life away

What I asked for
Came my way
Oh my Lord
Please make it
Go away

Two important references to quote/paraphrase that I think are important here, one of which is slightly-related, while the other is quite related, I will share with you.
From the VNV Nation song "Illusion":
"Please don't hate
For all the pain that you feel
The world is just illusion
Trying to change you"

And Bill Hicks had a bit about life. He said something quite along the lines of the following:
"Remember that in the end, we are all just the universe understanding itself subjectively. We come to this world and live and die, but it's only a ride. No matter what we do in life, and how we struggle, and try to run around panicking over every little thing, these concerns don't matter at the end, because it was only just a ride. Some people are trying to make you only worry about the ride, and spend money to try and keep you distracted, but at the end, neither they, nor you can take what's gained with them, because it's only a ride. Some will say things like 'Oh, I have a lot of investments running on this ride! Look at my concerned look and frowning brow.'

Life may be confusing
It may be overwhelming
I may even bring your heart to excessive speeds
You may not ever know for peace, what your mind truly needs
But take some deep breaths
Clear your mind of all nonsense
Think of what truly makes you happy
Think of all the things of which
You see your self as passionate
Think of all the things you have
The ability at which to succeed
Put them together, in efforts to create
A future and a goal
To make life much less hazed

Now I know why I love this old song' your poem ironically makes my dreamworld reality real and all that was curious and that made me curiouser and curiouser clear as day.

Did you ever hear a dream talking?
Well I did

Did you ever see a dream walking?
Well I did

Do u dig it?
Like a poet attempts to stop time
A monkey digs a whole
And so does the rabbit
And if we are lucky and mad
Just like alice
We all fall down
