Plants can grow in many a ways
Just like the cultures of human-kind
"The environment dictates"
A saying tried and true
For the environment determines
A flower's shape and hue
The colorings of its nourishment
And its light to which it grows
Soil is necessary,
To build its own foundation
Light is crucial,
For the prospects of its food
Various gases are important
For the aiding of these things
But what matters most next
Is the nurturing thing of love
And so these things, or even the lack thereof,
Can be considered an environment
As for how they so dictate,
A plant's development as it grows
I consider all these things
When I examine a flower
I take a glimpse into the past
And see its life unfold
I can see with this particular plant,
It's grown in an environment amiss
Lacking of some essential items
To grow strong, in the common sense
I see a rose, twisting over her self
Her stemmed body curves to an extent
Her leaves are up, to try and bask in the light
While her floral face, hangs down in its fright
Missing prickly thorns
Were they removed or were they torn?
Colors have now faded
Not as bright and vivid as before
The weeds that grew around her
Have all been eaten or decayed
I see the tiniest of feeding guests,
And I gently brush them off
This rose has been here, for quite some time
Abandoned by the reach, of Sol's mighty sight
I've come back to check upon my friend
Over a span of several years
There's something peculiar about this plant
I feel uniquely drawn to it
For some how, she holds an incredible resolve
The environment unkind, its sins she absolves
The stem she has formed, is now slightly soft
Troubled and labored, supporting her craning head
But the flower itself I can tilt, and face it now upright
And it holds its own briefly, showing she still has some fight
I can take this plant, and take it some place else
To a loving environment, and to a loving home
For her troubles that she's had here, are simply from the dark
She's known this unforgiving home, for so far much too long

Beauty! Lots of thought went into this write; well done.
I like how you centered the poem around her name.
Lovely message, and lucky gal. :)
