I laughed Away

I was walking down the sidewalk
when out of the corner of my eye
I saw a moving blur
A falling obese guy
He had slipped on ice
and groaned away
But not me
I laughed away
Oh I laughed away
People often seem
To experience pain
But not me
Cause I laugh away

I was at the doctor's office
For a routinely visit
When a man next to me
Had let out a cough
Soon after that
I had done so as well
He turned and looked at me
A concerned look on his face
He said "Oh I hope I didn't
Just give you the flu!
I can't afford to miss out on work!
What do we do?!"
I said "Oh lord I'm sick!"
And then slapped my knee
Just like the proverbial hick
I hyucked with glee
Because I laughed away
Oh how I laughed away
Others may fret
The thought of being ill
But not me
Cause I laugh away

I soon after went to the bank
To cash my paycheck
Get myself a money order
And cover my rent
So I stepped into the crosswalk
Yet quite at the wrong time
Cause a sedan had plowed me
Like a high-school marching band
I said to the driver with closed eyes
"I can't see a thing!
I may never walk again!"
And I laughed away
Oh I laughed away
I may just now be
Bleeding internally
But (I think) I'm still
Just laughing away

At the hospital I was given x-rays
To see my various injuries
That I've sustained today
When the doctor looked at me
And this is what he said
"Son you've got a tumor,
You're wasting away."
But I didn't worry
Nor did I fret
For my response
He would not soon forget
I said "I'll need some thinner clothes,
And I can finally wear a hat!"
And I laughed away
Oh I laughed away
I may be falling apart
Having growing pains
But It'll never bother me
I always laugh away

Two weeks later
I laid in my bed
My girlfriend had left me
Because I laughed at her
It was funny that she cried
When I told her of my health
But hey, the pillows are free game,
And I don't have snoring in the tired ear of mine!
And I laughed away
Oh I laughed away
Others are bothered
By feeling loneliness
But not me
Cause I laugh away

This was different, but I liked it. Thanks for sharing.
