The winds sway my dreams in infinite possibilities
stars collide, galaxies spin like a cherishered childrens top.
Rain pounds the tin roof as my toe taps to the beat
the heavens sing tonight.
A deep thrum bellows from my unsealed door,
knocking ceder gently
a slight off beat rhythm.
With light in our hands.
The moon above my head is only a murmur
a dull light in clouds capturing every sound.
Symbols crash as thoughts and illusions mingle
singing a song to a world that goes round
innocent lost in battled ground.
Wars waging and they still get away
pillow talk with bedroom sway.
Magicians in backgrounds screaming that they see the wires
if only the rest had eyes and not reading off of text book lies.
The piper plays and everything will be alright
heavens still playing tonight.
We may bounce pebbles off the moon
and make islands of men
but we are not the ocean
just little people with endless dreams.
As I lay singing to a world that goes round...

I found this very moving. The last stanza, beautifully profound. |
