The Flower Needs

A brisk wind rides on a wintery road,
The flower rests in its modest abode
There it sits, between the weeds,
And when it sits, the flower needs.
The rawness beckons, cruel, yet relieving,
Saddening arising, maintaining, grieving,
No strength, its life begins to fade,
Lowering slowly, it has paid.
Growing larger, that big black dog,
The flower drops, the enclosing fog
There it sits, there it pleads,
And when it sits, the flower needs.
The sunshine breaks the crushing mist,
The buds spark, thrive, twist,
Returning to play, gleeful and bright,
The flower is open, an internal light.
The reflective time, it returns to bliss,
Equilibrium returns, no lethal kiss,
There she sits, between the weeds,
And when she sits, the flower needs.

Cannot say that I do understand it but it did interest me. The first line in the third stanza seemed sorta forced to me, yet for a first poem, I'd say great effort.

This has a musical rhythm and feeling, the worlds dancing around the theme, but always coming back to center. You have much to say, and this is indicative of a good beginning! the more you write the easier it becomes. I want to read more..so keep writing! and welcome to YPDC!
