Broken Cycles, Endless Loops

Contributed by lostrelic on Tuesday, 27th January 2015 @ 03:10:55 AM in AEST
Topic: oops

Time but a twist in this cosmic curve, an endless loop of yesterdays.
Each moment fighting to keep present, within the present we knowenly drag the past.
Never forgiving I'll will, fighting over crimes like echoes reverberating through mud.
Giving everything to be remembered, infamously.

As we step out into this world in quests to make a mark, now we're leaving a stain.
Not Hollywood or the glitter of the screen that will be remembered,
It will be the lack of empathy for our own home.

Standing on higher boxes of soap, a cause for every care.
Fighting amongst ourselves deeming one higher then the rest.
Actors too busy playing Messiah roles leaving nothing to the average Joe's.
While armchair warriors play false Christ's on YouTube channels promising salvation.
Sharing Facebook posts in hopes to save the world.

Why must it take us to fall first before we learn?
This cosmic cycle is sacred in its geometry.
Making the same mistakes in contrast to our own downward spiral.
Lost on hardened hearts forgetting to love one another.

And time goes on.

Lost on hardened hearts forgetting to love one another.
Making the same mistakes in contrast to our own downward spiral.
This cosmic cycle is sacred in its geometry.
Why must it take us to fall first before we fall?

Sharing Facebook posts in hopes of saving the world,
While armchair warriors play false Christ's on YouTube channels promising salvation.
Actors playing Messiah roles leaving nothing for the average Joe's.
Fighting amongst ourselves deeming one god higher then the rest.
Standing on higher boxes of soap, a cause for every care.

It will be the lack of empathy for our home,
not Hollywood or the glitter of the screen that will be remembered.
As we step out into this world in quests to make a mark, now we're leaving a stain.

Giving everything to be remembered, infamously.
Never forgiving I'll will, fighting over crimes like echoes reverberating through mud.
Each moment fighting to keep present, within the present we knowenly drag the past.
Time but a twistbin this cosmic curve, an endless loop of yesterdays...

First comment I have to make here is....

How has this slipped under the radar of comments?

Hard to pick the stand out lines from this because there are so many. Carefully crafted is all I can say, you've clearly thought about your words, not just idly slipped in sentences to make content.
Well done.

Steve

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
