If truth were to be as an onion,
and one went in search of truth,
and finding the first layer of the onion of truth,
peels ever more layers of the onion in this search for truth,
all the way down to the onions final skin;
in doing this the onion becomes no more
and the searcher is left empty of hand and heart-
no wiser than before.

Great analogy. Truth is the self-evident result, after the elimination of doubt. If the onion is peeled and the doubt remains, then there is no truth to be found. Superb writing that got the old grey matter ticking over.
