Can't even look at myself

Contributed by Qas on Monday, 19th January 2015 @ 06:27:05 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

I turn away from the light,
Fixate upon the void,
Nothing I want to see,
Nothing I want to trust,
Nothing left.

The people I see,
Don't give a damn about me,
They don't have substance,
And neither do I.

The world is sick,
and without a doubt,
So am I.

Once strong, now gone,
I miss when I had a backbone,
Now I just go through the motions,
and waste away in misery.

I too struggle with this and I can relate.
You have too fight it or it will destroy you.
I have found isolation exaggerates these fears and that is why if you get out you will see not everyone is a scum bag..

I like dark poetry myself. It helps me cope.
Well done!

Qas,
Hello my poetic friend. You say you are without substance, but I disagree, as you have something to write about. You have something to share and you are not alone in this world as there are so many people who struggle as you. We all go through our moments in life, when we feel less than nothing, I have been there too, but I found myself and made a change. You too need to forget the world for a moment and find happiness within yourself, then open yourself to the world in a whole new way. Writing is one way you can do this my friend! Everyone struggles on the paths they take in life. Some make it through and some choose the easy way out, but once a person is gone, they are gone forever. I deal with pain and stress every day of my life, but I love life, I love waking up each day, because life is short enough as it is. The paths I walk, I try to make the moments the best I can, while walking those paths. If I have a bad or sad day, I just find a place to myself and think of all I do have and appreciate what I have and realize I really need nothing more and if I do, it will work itself out and my life will continue and happiness will prevail. So hang in there and find some peace in your heart, mind and soul.

Wayne

Hi there,

I think everyone goes through this. Some more often than others (myself included).

One person mentioned that isolation makes it worse and that is oh so true.
I know it's hard but try to get as much fun out of life as you possibly can. Go places, discover stuff, hang out with people you like. (or can tolerate lol)

I wish you all the best.

Love,
Davinah
