We are all stranded
Upon an island in the sea
Never quite knowing
What are futures will ever be
There's little to be found
Upon our home upon the sea
But yet we still seem to find
Achievement of relishing our faintest glee
Experiencing the world's recycled past
A rerun of life and death with old emotions
Ever feeling that the experiences are new
While in our minds we know it's merely vivid motions
The sea is filled of many things
That seek to claim our hearts and minds
From Lorelei's song to giant squids
Allowing us to fear the world and prevent our unwind
So if nautical nonsense be something you wish
Flop on the deck and flop like a fish
Gather with us at the table for some shish'
And dine with us, on life's most tempting dish

I like the concept of this poem, and save for a few minor typo's, it was an enjoyable read.
Strong last stanza. Nicely done.

Wisk me away to the sea for others never to see.
I'm ready for a swim.
Quaint and cool worthy of drool! |
