My pledge to the world

Contributed by boomking on Tuesday, 13th January 2015 @ 01:20:51 PM in AEST
Topic: dedicatedpoems

I was born in the west,
and we think we are the best.
Even though the simple fact is,
we simply do our best.

Just like people from the east,
north and the south.
We so endeavour to improve certain things,
apart from human relations.

But still there is room for improvement,
especially when it comes to our relations,
with the larger world community.
I feel the need to be a truer friend,
not just to my fellow westerners,
but also to the people
from the north, east and south.

Cuz how can one speak of a world community,
where we gloat amongst eachother,
pat ourselves on the back,
and simply don't care for the larger community?

I say onto you: that is a world without a future,
a world destined to fall apart.
To be laid in ruins,
until only rubble is left.

And i say onto you,
the world needs truer friends.
The ones that see the friend in everyone,
and care for everything else as well.

And on behalve of the west,
I pledge to be the truest of friends.
To all my fellow man,
from the west, from the north,
from the east and from the south.

Cuz only the truest of friends,
care enough bout this world,
and all it's inhabitants.
To lead it away from the abyss,
we are facing these days.

And that is the world with a future,
a world that is destined to go on.
A world to be truly proud of,
and injoy.

Imagine what a world that will be,
when we're all the truest of friends.
Imagine a world,
we're we are all one with one another,
and life itself.

It's easy if you try,
just give it a shot!

We are all transients from other places.
We should not be divided by anything but maybe time.
Well said and today we all need to be as one.
Thank You!

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
